Artist Statement:
Im a self-taught painter who works mostly with oils. I began my artistic exploration as a fine art and documentary photographer. My compositional style has been influenced by my vision as a photographer, and I use my photos as reference in the studio. Inspired by our connection to the natural world, and to each other, my work centers around landscapes and people within the landscape. Exploring the space between representational and lyrical imagery, my work expresses elements of abstract design. Im moved by the beauty, magic and dream-like quality that exist in everyday moments, and aim to express these feelings and observations in my paintings.
