Artist Statement:
Marie is a writer, interdisciplinary artist, educator and experience designer who thrives in supportive communities that value equality and care over blind productivity. Common threads in Marie’s work are the quest for authentic self-expression over learned compliance, themes of home, belonging, disability and grief, a scrappy DIY aesthetic informed by intriguing found objects, thrifted textiles, kindness for self as well as for the audience, and a fierce desire to heal the world, inside and out.
