Artist Statement:
Im interested in the modern-day process of “coming of age” and its relation with key cultural values that are passed on from generation to generation. My work attempts to explore the relevance of historical Chinese values in growing up in a modern-day American society. These values are derived from a combination of ancient texts, folktales and personal experiences.
