Artist Statement:
The work featured here is bound by my love for color, line, pattern and texture though the themes vary and at times flow into one another. Subjects include cityscapes, nature, and the figure. I love painting for its process, its layers, its meditative and tactile qualities, its ability to mirror and reveal thoughts and feelings. I studied at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan and later graduated with my BFA from SUNY, Purchase. Throughout my life I have always loved making things and have been painting since 1992. I received my teaching credential from San Francisco State and have taught pre-K thru 8th grade Art for over 15 years. I have also facilitated art-making classes for seniors. In addition to painting here in the studio, I am a sidewalk chalk painter and have created murals at North Beach’s Annual Festival as well as for shops and restaurants here in SF and Marin.
