Artist Statement:
Niloofar Asadi is a San Francisco-based filmmaker and visual storyteller with interdisciplinary experience in Film, Photography, and Visual Arts. In her character-driven stories, she fuses genres, crosses visual mediums, and makes dynamic blends of formalistic and expressive elements to explore themes of identity and representations of the self, eliciting provocation and participatory viewership. Asadi holds an MFA degree in Motion Pictures and Television, with an emphasis in directing. Her short films, documentaries, photographs, and visual artworks have been recognized, awarded, and published by international film festivals, magazines, and art organizations.
